Sean Seddon started the forum topic Learning Planned End Date (A28 in old money) for A2 students in the group Data Issues: 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Hi All
I've been asked to find out what kind of dates are being set for A2 end dates.
From what I know/ have seen, there seems to be the choice of the end of half term or the date of the final exam.
If the date of the final exam is used, does that mean that exam [...]

XML conversion will change flatfile A34 4 into XML CompStatus 3 and WithdrawReason 40, so transfer is there, just held differently in XML.
Hope this helps.

Has anyone had the error R21 -" At any one time, a learner must not have more than one aim per non-generic aim reference for a given funding stream" even with valid data? I have A level students taking 2 versions of Art (e.g. textiles and photography) that share the same Learning Aim, but [...]

Still nothing this morning.
For the V2 release, the original date was 10/06 and didn't come out until 15/06.
V2 release notes quoted on around 22/06 as a release date for V3.
Emails said V3 now available on 01/07 (but I think we all knew that). And I got an email asking for feedback about service desk!
Still waiting for [...]

Hi Selvy
I know we were shown a 'known issues' link yesterday at the meeting but I can only find an 'ILR documentation' known issues; is there a LIS one around, and can you share the link please?
Thanks

In the XML ILR there are (FAMType) DSF fields with FAMCodes 4 (16-18 transport) 8 (16 – 18 books and equipment) 9 (16-18 food/meals) and 10 (16-18 other). Equivalent codes are L49 in the flatfile.
Don't know about the MI, but YPLA are to have their own Management Portal (but this is only be rolled [...]

Hi Caspar
First, glad you finally got the LIS Beta!!
NI I think must be a LIS coding problem; specc has it down as optional across the board (nc for ASL)and (relevant for me) explicitly says only collected for 16-19 LR for certain pilot programmes.
EMA is going to be more of an issue for me (and A [...]

Hi Jim
Just checked the spec, and DistLearnSLN is mandatory for all LR field with specified length 4,3 but a v2 sprec change states trailing zeros removed so guess this should be bounced back too?

Got the LLDDInd error in V2 as well.
Still getting NI is blank for 16-18 LR learner.
Rejecting EMA learner too (which I believe should pass).
Also getting asked for DistanceLearnSLN for 16-18 learner too (only have 1 learner in my test file).

Dummy SourceFiles data lets my 1 Learner (16-18 A Level) ILR complete and gives me errors, the 3 I got before plus a few new ones!
It wants me to provide DistanceLearnSLN and NI number for this 16-18 YO learner.
Had enough for this week.
Enjoy the weekend and back to it all on Monday!!!

Doesn't the log also show that the XML validates without SourceFiles present, and then I think it tries to do something with SourceFiles to carry out amalgamation. – hence the abort we were getting.
This seems wrong on two counts to me:
1) A number of us will probably only ever use a single file (so no [...] -

Doesn't that mean that LIS stops processing (XML validation fail) before the point at which we were being bombed out?

Dear Peter
According to the documentation I have, the 'SourceFile' group is only generated as output from the LIS.
This also documented in the sample XML file issued by the information authority on 19 April 2011 (V 2.2).
This is also [...]

I've sent a screenshot and my (1 learner) XML file to

Had the standard reply back, so now waiting with baited breath.

Just downloaded and installed new beta.
Attempted to load a file that produced rule violations (but passed batch processing).
Now get the error:
Object reference not set as an instance of an object.
at the
Amalgamating XML files…
portion of the process.
Guess who is emailing the data service pretty soon…

Had a reply from lscsupportdesk@lsc.gov.uk on 06/06/11 from my email sent 03/06/11.
Thius gave me the link and the password for the zipped file.
Found a couple of issues, but it was useful for debugging/correcting my XML output!

Dear All
My understanding is that there is some legacy EMA next year, i.e. learners on a 3 year programme who got EMA in 09/10 and 10/11.
Looking at the XML spec, it looks like LSR value 25 (for EMA) is only valid to 31/07/11.
Am I reading this correctly?

Sorted my issue by using SQL functions to return XML fragments; I now get the 'well-formed' multiple LLDDandHealthProblem as appropriate.
I guess that I'll be able to do the same for RUI and PMC.
Thanks for the replies.

Hi all my techie friends!
I'm now trying to make my system output the XML from SQL Server 2008.
Is it possible to do this purely via Management Studio, or do I need to use other tools too?
Also can someone please confirm whether the following is correctly formed or not? (NB I've substituted ] for > and [...]
