    Thanks Martin and Chris!

    Chris – if you have a response confirming that would you be able to send it to me, save me asking myself officially!!!

    Carolyn – it does happen where a learner will have done an apprenticeship in one sector and then come back a few months later with a new employer [...]

    Hello,
    I’m having a moment and I just need to check. If a learner comes to do an Apprenticeship Level 2 in (for example) Health and Social Care, and completes, and later on comes back with another employer and wants to start on an Apprenticeship Level 2 in Business Admin. Is this acceptable or is it [...]

    Sharon,

    My call to the data service last week confirmed for led and feed providers that we enter the national SF that we were linked to on the OLDC as we are not linked to individual regions. Has this now changed and the regional contracting organisation should be used?

    Paul Rogers posted on the forum topic Adult Skills Budget – how to claim for NVQs and units for the unemployed on benefits in the group Data Issues:   3 months, 2 weeks ago

    Hiya,

    The simple answer is…. YES. Treat each unit as a seperate qualification for the purposes of the ILR documentation, so you just need to use the non-apprentice learning aim page for each.

    Sorry I cannot help you with the Maytas, I just know that PICS can do this already.

    (Happy Snowy January everyone!!)

    Hi Sandra,

    I'm not a Maytas user, but the principles should be the same for all systems. The Units need to be individually reported within Parts 3/4/5 of the ILR, and therefore you will need to show all of them based on their respective start and end dates. If your system is only [...]

    Dear all,

    We are currently in the process of speaking to each SSC to find out what the situation is. The answers we have so far are:

    Lantra – Issuing as normal, only difference is that before 13th April the cost was £40, after this date it is £25
    TDA – Cert’s issued as normal, just change [...]

    Thanks David for your responses thus far. Your response to my second question however leaves open what you mean by "ARE PART OF A PROGRAMME".

    So I will ask it more specifically:

    The qualification 50098317: Award in Health and Safety at Work (QCF) is eligible for funding under Section 96 and is on the [...]

    ME AGAIN! And for the last time I promise!

    At the FL Roadshow that I attended a few months ago, to which David you were present, it was confirmed that Level 2 qualifications were not eligible for funding under the Foundation Learning route. Since then however a number of Local Authorities across the [...]

    The Funding Regulations document for YPLA states two principles, and I have been asked to confirm if these apply specificlly to Foundation Learning:

    Page 15: Para 40 (b): Specific stand-alone learning aims designed to meet employers’ statutory
    or other responsibilities. These include:any learning aim in health and safety, food safety, first aid and other
    health- and safety-related aims [...]

    Second Question: I am being asked by a number of academic staff about the possibility of temporarily withdrawing a learner from the programme if they require an agreed break in learning. I note that field A35 (Learning outcome) would be used for this purpose and this year Learner Responsive provision [...]

    Hello,

    My first question is regarding the planned end date of a Foundation Learner. I totally understand that the individual aims a learner embarks on should not be changed as this will impact on distorting funding and out of funding issues. My question however is about the planned end date in Part 2 [...]

    Hi,

    Just finalising everything for the LR02 claim, but something is popping into my head that learners aged 16-18 cannot do qualifications under 9 GLH. Is that still the case or did I dream it and it is no longer relevant.

    I ask because I am checking DSAT and a report there is making me [...]

    Cyrus,

    For 09/10 the rates are:

    A = 1
    B = 1.12
    C = 1.3
    D = 1.6
    E = 1.72
    F = 1.4
    G = 1.92
    J = 1.25
    K = 1.5
    L = 1.2

    They will change for the next academic year, as detailed in the SFA updates that have come out over the last few months.

    This is the first year that I have actually "formally" responded to the ILR consultation process, and the primary reason is because the survey monkey facility is very convenient and easy to use. Normally I would rant at a member of the IA or do it via the Employer Responsive Consultation Group.
