Annex 1 of the migration specification (Appendix B to the ILR Specification for 2011/12) has a mapping from A14 to the Learning Delivery FAM Type (FFI) and FAM Codes. This is available on our website at http://www.theia.org.uk/ilr/ilrdocuments/201112_ilrdetail.htm.

Apprenticeship main aims are identified in the flat file using A10 = 46 but in the single ILR main aims are identified using the Aim type field (where Aim Type = 2).

The LIS will convert learning aims with a funding model of 46 into Aim type 2.

No, it's not forbidden but there is no expectation on providers to update this field if the learner moves employer.
