How do I join a group?
To join a group you will either need to accept an invitation sent by the ‘group adminstrator, or request access to the group you wish to join by clicking the ‘Join group’ button. With private and hidden groups, the group administrator (the information authority) will then consider your request and accept or decline you as a member.
Why can’t I join a group?
Groups are based on particular stakeholder groups. Feedback from stakeholders was clear that they wanted private areas where they could discuss issues with their peers. The criteria for joining groups is published. Group owners may decline your request to join if you do not meet the criteria.
Where are the groups and how do I join one?
The groups directory is found at http://forums.theia.org.uk/groups. Each group is listed and has a ‘Join group’ button.
How do I set up a group?
Only site administrators can set up discussion groups. If you think a new discussion group is needed, please email cst@theia.org.uk with details. If the information authority agrees that there is a need for that group on Feconnect, then a new group will be created for you.
