With only a few days to go before the OLDC is open for R02 is it not a bit too late to tell us that the lengths of string fields have been restricted and that total digits properties and patterns have been added to numeric fields in the schema?

I expect that this is the reason that the LIS now rejects the import and reports X01 XML errors on HE records where we have not entered any data yet, I was expecting that the LIS would report errors but process the remaining valid learners to the output return file but the process stops due to any XML errors caused by the new string restrictions or digit properties or pattern.
It would have helped if the ILR specifications used the same Data Type as the schema instead of just string and number, in addition restrictions, properties and pattern should also be included for completeness but I expect this will be updated in a latter version of the specifications which will then be historic and of no use to us at all.

Ok I can just un-flag all but ER learners so that R02 can be returned, in the real word it takes time to enrol learners onto our systems and it was always the case that data would have to be checked and validated in time for the applicable return, my advice is to only flag those learners due in the next return thus avoiding the XML errors that stop the LIS from processing the batch file.
