Can anyone please give me some pointers as to how you work the LSA out? I understand that this goes on the matrix cost, but am still unsure of the calculations that are needed to be able to complete this section
Hello Denise, do you mean ALS rather than LSA? If it is ALS then Independent Specialist Colleges have been asked to submit an amount based on the guidance document from YPLA. You can find it from this link; http://www.ypla.gov.uk/colleges_and_providers/funding/funding-guidance/ This is so they can work out a funding model using the ILR to generate funding for ISCs in the future. The "problem" with using the Matrix is that some of what you claim through Matrix can't be claimed through ALS if you follow the guidance, so there will be a shortfall between what you currently get and funding generated through the ILR/ALS. Here I put together a spreadsheet for each area that we identified we could claim using the guidance and used the costing we use for PFA. I've only run it for a small number of learners as I need to simplify it to use it proprly with all 170ish learnbers here. Hope this helps?
