    Hi,

I am currently studying a part time MSc along side my role as Information Systems Manager at Chelmsford College. For my dissertation I am writing about the feasibility of using the SaaS model for delivering MIS solutions in the FE sector.

For my dissertation I will be carrying out an amount of primary research into the current landscape and also stakeholders opinions on the subject.

I have this morning seen mention re: the Data Burden Project being undertaken and was wondering where I could get more information on this study as it may well be of use.

Hi Mark, From the email we received requesting our participation: "The information authority has commissioned Oakleigh Consultants to carry out a study to identify and quantify the data burden on the English FE and skills provider sector. We are seeking feedback from education and training providers across the sector to better understand the nature and extent of the data burden, in qualitative and quantitative terms. The resulting report and cost model will be used to provide a benchmark for measuring benefits from the information authority and the Data Service and the findings will be used to direct their work, i.e. to tackle the high burden areas. Broadly, ‘data’ and ‘data burden’ in this context refers to transactions between providers and third parties, i.e. where effort is required to deal with data that meets the needs of external bodies, in addition to the core business of the provider. [snip] Please contact Zeb Nash at Oakleigh for any technical assistance you may require with the survey zebnash@oakleigh.co.uk Any enquiries about the information authority in relation to this project should be directed to Una Bennett Una.bennett@theia.or.uk" Hope this helps. Best wishes, Robin Brockenhurst College
