  • Funding Model Code 46 (4 posts)

There appears to be a discrepancy between the Single ILR specification for element Funding Model and the Flat file A10 codes. The Single ILR spec shows code 46 no longer in use, but the flat file specification (version 3) shows it still in use. Which is right?

    Hi Tony

Apprenticeship main aims are identified in the flat file using A10 = 46 but in the single ILR main aims are identified using the Aim type field (where Aim Type = 2).

The LIS will convert learning aims with a funding model of 46 into Aim type 2.

    I hope that helps.

OK, I see that, but the notes in the Single ILR spec state that code 46 should be replaced by code 45. If this is done in an MIS system that will initially produce flat files then the LIS will not be able to convert it. Then when the switchover is made to the XML output the data in the MIS system will need chaging to produce a correct XML file.

If, as you are saying the LIS will convert code 46 then why does the specification need the note?

The notes in the single ILR Specification are relevant where the MIS will be outputting XML files rather than flat files.

If the MIS is not able to output XML then the flat file ILR Specification should be followed to ensure the files are in the correct format to be converted into XML by the LIS.
