Hi all
Here is the feedback so far on the proposal to ensure that all appropriate data is collected once at programme aim level and not recorded multiple times for each aim in a programme, unless a different value could apply to each learning aim. If you’ve not completed the online survey yet, and would like to do so, please go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/201112-change-request-14
RESULTS SO FAR
As of 27 August, we’ve had 26 responses to the online questionnaire for this change. 85% support the proposal to reduce the fields collected for every aim. The majority of responses are from college staff.
In terms of what effect respondents think this will have on data burden, 60% think the change would mean a slight reduction in burden, 12% say it would significantly reduce burden and 28% say it will have no effect. The additional comments suggest that the vast majority of student record systems already populate most of this automatically and so it will not have a big impact on reducing burden.
OVERALL
In the comments there are a couple of suggestions that there may be errors and/or burden caused by ensuring that learning aims are being associated with the right programme in all cases. On the whole though, the sector seems supportive of this proposal.
If you don’t think this is a representative view or if there are any particular issues you’d like to flag up, you can respond in this forum, email us at cst@theia.org.uk or complete the survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/201112-change-request-14
