2010/11 ILR change process
October 29, 2009 in The information authority Blog by Paul
Hi
It’s been a while since our last blog but we’ve had plenty to be getting on with. We had to review all 60 of the ILR change requests, look at the issues raised for those that went out for consultation and then provide the information authority board with a recommendation for each change. The board met at the end of September to agree what will be in the 2010/11 ILR. We’ve already published a brief overview of the 2010/11 ILR changes and discussed them at our recent advisory group meetings. Colleagues are now working on writing the 2010/11 ILR specification which will be published on 27 November 2009.

Hi all
It has been a busy couple of weeks for us here at the information authority – we have been working through the 60 change requests for the 2010/11 ILR that we received, and making decisions on which ones we will be rejecting, and which ones we need input from the FE system on before we write up recommendations for the board meeting at the end of September.

Over the last few weeks, colleagues in the information authority have been assessing the requests to change the 2010/11 ILR against the criteria. We’ve started responding to change requestors with initial recommendations. For some requests we’re clarifying aspects of the change. With requests that don’t meet the criteria, we’re recommending that the change is declined. There are some that look like meeting the initial criteria and they will be taken forward for consultation, with options and issues published on feconnect.

Last Friday was the closing date for submitting requests to change the 2010/11 ILR. Colleagues and I are still collating all of the requests but the final number looks like being very close to 60. We should be able post brief details of all the changes on the ILR request for change pages of our corporate site tomorrow. Each change will be considered by the information authority secretariat using criteria agreed with the board. Changes that do not meet the criteria will be declined. Those that meet the criteria will be published in much more detail and taken forward for consultation.

It is that time of the year again – the information authority has informed the sector that the ILR change request process is now open. Although the deadline for submissions is 26 June 2009, we welcome earlier submissions (ideally, by end of May) and discussion to maximise consultation and minimise difficulty at later stages.
